Trekking in Val Alba to the hut “cjasut dal Scior” | A magic place with a 360° view on my mountains

ABOVE MOGGIO UDINESE IN FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA IS THE NATURAL RESERVE OF VAL ALBA, 3000 HECTARES OF WOOD, PATHS, RIVERS AND REMAINS OF THE FIRST WORLD WAR ALL TO VISIT.

Here you will find easy treks suitable for beginners or families  and more difficult treks with spectacular views.

HERE IS THE VIDEO OF THE TREK

Another Sunday, another adventure.

The other week I received an email from Promoturismo Friuli Venezia Giulia of which I am Ambassador. They asked me if I was available to take a free course with them from a professional film maker on how to “create emotional videos” with a mobile phone. I love to create videos (although with poor results) I could not believe it.

I took the ball and took advantage of this trekking in Val Alba (look the video above)  also to do a trial and not get to the course empty-handed.

– HERE MY FIRST VIDEO I MADE FOR THE “PROMOTUR FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA”  –

Only two weeks later, at the second lesson I discovered that I could increase the video resolution in my cell phone and being able to make quality videos with my phone is perfect for not having extra weight in my backpack when I go to the mountains. In the end I realized that you have to divide things, when you go to the mountain SLR and mobile phone, while when you want to make a good video you definitely will not do a nice trek!

The walk lasted 4 hours, 3 to go up and one to go down. We spent at least an hour eating and relaxing at “Cjasut dal Scior” at an altitude of 1744 meters. The view from up there is lovely, literally breathtaking, I admit it is one of the most beautiful views I’ve seen so far.

You do not ask me why I liked it so much. Perhaps for the “almost” 360 degree view, or for the dozens of mountains that surrounded us, or perhaps for the table and the bench placed right on the summit of the mountain close to the cliff while the eye could run down to the plain or the ease with which you could understand the names of the mountains and find out that many of us had already climbed.

In short, a wonderful summit.

THE HIKE

Actually I was expecting something easier, of those walks that go up and down where you have at least the time to take a breath. But the path to get to the “cjasut dal scior”  shelter that is located above Mount Vualt and dominates the whole valley is not really an easy walk. Although it is never too steep, the climb never fails, and given my poor physical shape I sweated a bit.

This did not stop me from taking pictures / videos / eating / bothering Simone and the dog, taking pictures of the dog, eating Simone AH NO! That still not (although at some point my hunger had reached very high peaks that … we had to stop and face the first sandwich).

END

Well if you are an experienced walker I can  recommend this walk. A sandwich at an altitude of 1700 meters with this view is not every day.

And would you ever come here?

INFO

How to get to Val Alba: When you arrive in Moggio Udinese, continue to Val Aupa, Pradis, Drentus, Zouf di Muec, Val Alba until you find the parking lot and the start of the trail.

Path to Cjasut dal Scior: CAI 428 then CAI 422

Duration: 4 hours

Difficulty: medium to high

Altitude: 1744 meters

Total kilometers of the ring: 13 kilometers

Safety: The path is wide and simple (but there are ways even more difficult, if you go down other roads pay attention) suitable for a dog trekking but according to my personal opinion, not for very young children,  because is always uphill and a little too long.

If you are with children you can stop at the Vualt shelter, the walk is not long and runs along the forest. Very beautiful as the Vualt where there is a water source, benches, a table and a beautiful view.
