It was October, I was traveling a lot for work and with my head totally from the other side I saw this announcement. It was a beautiful dog from the black nose looking for home. I’m Georgie, Adopt me please. Here’s his story.
Georgie is one of many puppies that are saved every year by the Sicilian countryside where the problem of stray dogs is very high. Thanks to a wonderful animal association, Giorgino, along with other puppies, flew to Venice and then transported to Trieste, in a dog pension.
From the time I saw the announcement I spent the next 2 months monitoring Facebook if Giorgi was adopted or not. Those eyes had really entered my heart. And what did I do the rest of the time? I stressed Simone to adopt it. Obvious.
More or less December has gone this way
ME < Can we Adopt Giorgi?>
SIMO <And if he run away? We always have the door open!>
ME <We teach him not to run away>
SIMO <And if he destroys the house?>
At most you destroy my boxes. At worst, if he eats 2 shoes, I will buy it again! ‘
SIMO <and rocky? (The other old dog)>
ME < Rocky will have a new friend to play!>
SIMO <and ……>
ME <Oooooh …….>
– SO.. ANXIETY! –
Simone finally said YES and December 6 with 5 degrees and strong wind, we are at the kennel of Opicina: D
Georgie is released and begins to run crazy and excited. Obviously it has rained recently (where I’m from is always raining..) and he thinks well of rolling in all the puddles available in the square (and with that we would have had to fear the future consequences).
He jumped on us as if he had already understood everything. Or maybe not. But we like to think this. And we went back home!
Here Giorgino just came home. I don’t know you but it seems to me that it smiles.
When I edited the video of his first six months at home with us ( video below or click here), with clips taken by the phone and gopro,at the end I was really happy to have made them. Simone was deeply touched. Much love. And just to make you understand, he did not want the dog at the beginning. .
EPISODES AFTER BRINGING HOME GIORGINO:
Me and the dog back from a walk. Simone opens the door.
SIMO <Hello my love !!>
He was talking to the dog -__-
ME<Do we go on vacation?>
SIMONE <O_O AND GIORGINO ???????>
All on holiday together doing treks!
1′ month: < Giorgino NO on bed and sofa and in the bedroom area !!!>
2 ‘month: <Georgie NO on bed and sofa !!!>
3 ‘month: <Giorgie NO at least on the bed!>
from 4 ‘onwards: <OK but just tonight !!!>
HOW ACT A DOG FROM THE KENNEL?
There are thousands of legends about dogs taken in a kennel. Who says they have vices that do not lose, who are traumatized all and much more. Good. Let’s make some clarity.
Not all dogs are traumatized but not all dogs want to live with you. Every dog has its character and instinct. Like humans there are more ‘shy’ dogs, more awake or need to run and vent. You have to understand (alone or with the help of a professional) what dog you have.
Thanks to the right tips we found online, to a pack of wustel and a bit of patience from the very first night we taught Giorgi to dirty out. Then from the second month we decided to take him to a trained instructor to teach him various tricks and learn more about the world of dogs.
DOG SCHOOL YES OR NO?
I would say yes! To have a dog that can concentrate and respond to your commands, you need a person who teaches you how to behave and how to run our controls.
How it works: The instructor teaches you the exercises and then you have to do it with your dog. The part of the agility is also very fun. I assure you that Simone and the dog enjoy a lot. Giorgi is a thunderbolt to understand exercises and do this things is so good for your buddy.
Now Giorgi is our partner whatever we decide to do. Hiking, camping or when we go to the sea. We even took a week on vacation and one of our pics from INSTAGRAM – @THEITALIANSMOOTHIE – also appeared in the magazine “Turisti per caso” during a walk on the dolomites ALL TOGETHER! Awesome!
HERE WE ARE 😀
Why a post about him?
Meanwhile, because it’s part of all the adventures we do and so it is fair to make it known and why this is a clear testimony that adopting dogs in kennels is not just good for them but also for your life and the whole family ♡ #ADOPTARESCUEDOG
AND NOW SEE THE STORY OF GIORGINO HERE!
FROM THE MOMENT THAT WE TOOK HIM IN THE KENNEL AT HIS FIRST SWIM!
HOW CUTE WAS?
