DIY: HOW TO RE-USE AN OLD LONG SKIRT

My grandmother was the village’s dressmaker and the clothes she left us I did not have the courage to touch them yet.
Unfortunately I am not yet good enough with cut and sew and I would li

ke to make the best of it, so I usually find myself in the cellar looking for something that can be recycled without risking damage, as in this case.

The skirtI found (on the left), was with 3 lines of elasticities that create this curl in life. I found it so cute for summer that it was really a waste to leave it abandoned in a wardrobe in the cellar.

For my DIY I just chose the height I preferred, cut, hand made, and with the over fabric I created a cover-up band to use in pairs with the skirt when going to the sea or pool, while I have used skirt many times all summer along with the crop tops (the best ones I’ve found on asos).

THEN AND LATER
