Traveling full-time for work could sounds good but doing this for years and years is cool at the beginning. At the end, it becomes just a job, so last month I decide to stop.
Quit the job that everyone wants for a normal work in a normal
boring city is not really a story that everyone would like to read but this is my story, the story of a girl from a small town who has done it alone making her dreams come true.
I’m writing this maybe more for myself than for the others.
One chapter of my life is finish and I still feel in the limbo trying to find my dimension in this “normal” life.
A BIT OF MY STORY
I always love the Bartending and when I was 20, after finish school and made some little experience behind the bar I decide to improve my skills and I moved ( alone LOL ) at first in London for learn English imagining that it could be useful to me and after in Milan “the cocktails world capital”.
In England I have been learning about team work and how to behave and talk among colleagues and costumers. Something that in Italy it is not taken into consideration too much.
In Milan I learned all I know about making drinks and the management of a cafe bar thanks to an excellent barman and a great boss and making specific courses.
After 5 years like this, by a stroke of luck I was called for an interview with Redbull and is start my “all around the world job”.
For my last 6 years I travelled for something like 30 weeks per year from Japan to India and USA, Canada, Singapore, China, all around Europe and more..
It was so cool and special to have the possibility to travel like this doing the job that you love.
I always feel so grateful for this and proud of myself too.
So now is coming the sad part of the story. Been always around the world it makes you lose all your family special moments ( and for an Italian that’s all).
Let’s go with my 30s in a long flight from Mexico completely alone (Yeppiii with a sad little wine bottle), many birthdays of my family? You’ve seen them?! Me, not! Cheers!
The wedding of my cousin, snowboarding on sunday with my sista, made the easter at home and not in the airport in China.. this is just a little bit of things that I lose and I do not want it happening again.
That’s quite funny when the normal things are the extraordinary things and viceversa.
I missed the normal part of the life so much, sleeping on the sofa (ohh yes…), come back home every night (and stop to remember your room number and floor – ops.. sorry is not my room! :D), feel bored, have nothing to do and do nothing, cook food finally by yourself and stop to eat one day sushi and the day after a Burrito >o< (brrr… I feel cold thinking about).
So, last month after 3 weeks with my boyfriend around the USA (check my Instagram if u love on the road style pics @alessiamorello_ ), I decide to stop with this glamorous life and come back to my Home Town in my beloved FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA .
So, what’s happened?
When I came back from the holidays I left my Curriculum in a very cool place that I liked for long time and they call me the day after!
Now It’s a month that I work there, everything is fine, my shift are good as well and now I’m trying to organize myself like I’m organized at work (
error error error )
Is not easy, start over with the gym (I swear every night I go to sleep convinced to go there but the next morning is a shock exit from the duvet <- It’s his fault ), find the time for my full time family and boyfriend, find the time to write and go ahead with my projects, sew again ( damn if I lost the hand).
Combine all to the fact that is Xmas…. ( here was perfect the emoticon who’s scream hehe).
Anyway, here is my life in 400 words, hope you enjoy the fact to know a little bit more of me and if you want to tell me something about you don’t be shy and write me something about your story.
Don’t loose my pics on my INSTAGRAM: alessiamorello_
